The WeChat account “Carbon Account 2.0” was launched yesterday.
Carbon Account serves as a notebook to record quantified friendly actions such as drive green, garbage sorting, low-carbon life and so on.
Launched by Green & Low-Carbon Development Foundation (GDF), a non-profit environmental organization in Shenzhen which concentrates on the development of low carbon initiatives, this WeChat account aims to promote awareness of environmental protection, so that green and low carbon life styles can be a positive and interesting way of life.
After registration, everyday there will be a low-carbon environmental protection article to read. As well, the account will teach you how to live a low carbon life, introducing topics such as green travel, using new energy vehicles, participating in low carbon charity activities and as well many other activities.
You can also set healthy and interesting green tasks, for example, walking a million steps or going vegetarian.
It also has a diary function that you can record your daily low carbon life, such as taking the bus, subway or bicycle.
After completing green tasks, you can get carbon points. The cumulative points will raise your level and you can get your exclusive badges as well as occasional surprise gifts.
Carbon Account represents a kind of attitude towards life, said Zhang Jingjing, the project manager of Carbon Account. Zhang sincerely hopes that people can pay more attention to nature. As well, by using Carbon Account, people can make environmental protection a daily part of their lives, Zhang added.
Besides Carbon Account, the GDF will hold a series low carbon events, such as Carbon Workshops and Urban Farm exhibitions. The GDF will continue to vitalize enterprises with low-carbon development, to create a future with low-carbon development.
