Peach blossom festival in Lianzhou

Peach flowers, as the city flower of Lianzhou, a county-level city in the northwestern part of Qingyuan City, will be a feast for your eyes during the peach blossom festival from Feb. 26 to March 20.

The opening ceremony of the peach blossom festival was held yesterday. The flower experience in Lianzhou will definitely bring you a unique trip featuring peach blossoms, folk-customs, spring scenery and delicacies.

This year, the festival is being held at two different venues: the main venue, Datian’ao Peach Orchard in Longping Town (龙坪镇大田坳桃园), and the branch venue, Peach Island at Huangchuan Three Gorges in Longtan Village (龙潭村湟川三峡桃花岛).

Besides, there are also peach-blossom-decorated boats in the Huangchuan Three Gorges resort as well as peach-blossom-decorated bridges in the Lianzhou Underground River Resort, offering you a festive air in various forms.

Datian’ao Peach Orchard

Peach blossoms in Datian’ao Peach Orchard in Longping Town attract a large number of photographers every year.

The main venue for the festival this year, Datian’ao Village in Longping Town, is conveniently located 23 km away from the downtown area of Lianzhou and it only takes half an hour by car to reach. It covers an area of 200 mu (133,333 square meters).

Planted along the rolling hills, the pink blossoms will fill the air with romance while you wander among the trees.

Driving route: Drive to Lianzhou via Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Guangzhou Bei’erhuan Expressway, Guangzhou-Qingyuan Expressway and Qingyuan-Lianzhou Expressway. Then drive from Lianzhou Hotel for 23 km, first take national highway G323 and then highway S259 to Longping Town.

Peach Island, Huangchuan Three Gorges

Sitting right across from the Longtan Eco-tourism Resort Area and facing the Huangchuan Three Gorges across the river, the Peach Island is no doubt the most unique one among the many different peach orchards.

You may travel to the island by boat and take in the awesome view of full and rich peach blossoms surrounding you.

The transportation is quite convenient here and taking the boat is free for tourists coming to the resort. This place is a nice option for tourists who love seeing the spectacular and romantic grandeur of peach blossoms.

Driving route: Drive to Lianzhou via Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Guangzhou Bei’erhuan Expressway, Guangzhou-Qingyuan Expressway and Qingyuan-Lianzhou Expressway. Then drive from the downtown area of Lianzhou, take Huiguang Road and pass through Chengnan Bridge. Drive for about 1 km after the Chengnan toll station, and then turn left onto highway X389, then drive for some 12 km.
