Meaning:
“偏心” means “showing favoritism,” and “美颜” means “pretty face.” This term, coined by Chinese netizens, refers to a tactic often used by narcissistic girls who use Photoshop or other apps to make themselves look prettier in group photos. Originally this was an April Fools’ Day joke played by tech firm Xiaomi which announced several new functions for its smartphone MIUI9. The company claimed that one function could identify the owner of the phone and beautify him or her in group selfies.
