From now on, migrants from different parts of China can find the special flavors of their hometown in the Futian Metro Station Food Plaza, which was fully opened on April 26.
The plaza features a large variety of specialty foods, ranging from Hunan beef rice noodles, Chongqing small noodles, authentic Chaoshan pot-stewed fowl and Taiwan Braised pork rice, in 44 specialty restaurants with a total of 1600 seats.
On the opening day, a big crowd of citizens were attracted by lion dancing, musical performances and lucky draws organized by the plaza. Mr. Chen, a tourist spending his May Day holiday in Shenzhen, told the reporter that he was supposed to transfer at Futian Metro Station, but that he was immediately attracted by beautifully-designed food plaza. “The large variety of food reflects the inclusiveness of the city,” Chen said.
The plaza is a result of a second cooperation between Shenzhen Metro Group and Jihua New Fashion MEGO of Fashion Group, according to the person in charge of the project. The opening of the plaza makes it possible for tens of thousands of travelers in Futian Station to enjoy delicious food during their business trips.
Futian Station, located in Shenzhen CBD, is a transfer station for line 2, line 3 and line 11. It is also the largest underground railway station in Asia, featuring the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Train, as well as bus, taxi and business spaces.
