A BAO’AN hospital has put into use a smart medical service platform, which cuts each in-patient’s time in hospital by 100 minutes on average, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.

According to the report, the Bao’an Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital was honored by the China Maternal and Child Health Association as a model hospital for using digital platforms to improve clinical services.

By cooperating with a Shenzhen-based medical technology company, the hospital has launched an array of digital platforms since 2016, such as an outpatient self-service information collection system, a perinatal-period health management platform, a big data center and a smart follow-up visit system.

According to the hospital’s president, Chen Xu, the construction of the hospital’s smart medical service platform consists of four stages, namely building a network to connect all IoT devices inside and outside the hospital, building a big data center, adding more online applications, such as Alipay and WeChat, to the platform and analyzing the data to facilitate the decision-making process.

The hospital has raised the efficiency of its clinical services and delivered convenience to its patients with the smart medical service platform.
