NEW Compark, a creative industrial park consisting of renovated old factory buildings in Nanshan District, was opened to the public Friday, according to the Shekou News.
Occupying an area of 60,000 square meters, New Compark is a creative industrial park featuring the integration of art and technology, which aims to build an innovation-oriented tech community.
The opening ceremony for the park, along with a festival featuring creative handicrafts, was held Friday. Over 100 craftsmen attended the festival and presented their handmade leatherware, silver ornaments, paintings and other handicrafts to visitors.
Visitors can also find restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, creative bazaars, a 10,000-square-meter shopping mall and 500 parking spaces in New Compark. Located in Shenzhen University Town, the park is surrounded by 18 universities and colleges, according to the report. (Zhang Yang)
