Guofeng Art Museum in Longgang District is exhibiting works from the 2017 Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Etienne, providing a model of future ways of working.
Now in its 10th edition, the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-étienne was held in March and April last year in eastern central France’s Saint-Etienne. The biennale expanded beyond the walls of the old Manufacture d’Armes of Saint-Etienne, and turned the district into a large-scale territory of experimentation.

Exhibited designs at the biennale include the Tomako by Finnish brand Vivero, which addresses the need for quiet personal workspaces in a whimsical fashion. An exhibition named “Working Promesse” offered visitors a panorama of shifting work paradigms. It focused on the effects of digital labor and new environments, like co-working spaces and creative “fablabs.” The aim is to forecast the future organization of workspaces. Other installations include a model of an office building designed for 1,000 employees in a creative industry.

The design biennale was launched in 1990, the largest of its kind in France. A landmark in the history of the importance ascribed to design in Saint-Etienne was the inauguration of La Cité du Design on the site of the former arms factory in 2009.

正是这一系列的深刻创新，才造就了圣埃蒂安设计双年展齐名与“美国国家设计三年展”、“米兰设计周”、“伦敦设计节”的国际盛誉。
这次，展览落地另一个重量级的“设计之都”——中国深圳，组成了一场设计界强强联合的高级对话。深圳作为中国第一个、全球第六个“设计之都”，是发展中国家中第一个获得这一荣誉称号的城市。
荣膺“设计之都”是深圳创意文化产业发展的一个新起点，是深圳迈向国际化城市的一个新标志，本次举办的设计双年展，亦让世界看见了深圳的工业创新力与设计软实力。
本次展览从五个部分来呈现圣埃蒂安设计双年展的精彩内容，包括圣埃蒂安的历史渊源、设计双年展的历届回顾、绝非偶然的设计对话、设计学院的传承创新和日常实用的设计物品。每一部分都系统的阐述出设计的趣味与严谨，从历史和时间的角度出发，通过文献资料、图片及影像信息、旧物件、手工设计产品等展出来呈现设计如何改变生活，如何使一座城市重铸生命、让一件物品获得温度、令一个空间变得丰满而又轻盈。
展览不仅从宏观的角度来看设计如何带领人们进入更好的生活，也从微观的细节来呈现出设计的心思，从工艺到实用，从视觉美感到科学基础，完整映现出设计思维。每一件事物背后都有严密的设计逻辑，就像大众眼睛所见的工业产品，都来源于设计师对原料特性的把握、使用需求的分析、工业生产的控制，在设计的微小变化中，来改变生活的点滴，通过工业设计让生活更加美好。
就如生活中最普遍的汽水瓶盖来说，槽的设计不仅涉及到计算机语言里的奇偶之差，也受到视觉美观的影响，经过无数次的设计与实践之后，最后确定的21个槽才能在兼具密封性与牢固性的同时，保持“颜值”。“绝非偶然”部分的精彩呈现，也是展览以工业设计为主题的亮点所在，这些在人们过去生活中充当重要角色的器物，让观众在现场精致的氛围里感受到设计的多样性和永恒性。
