Since July, dreamy interdisciplinary exhibition "teamLab" at OCT Harbor's exhibition center has been a hotspot for selfies and amusement. Now, "Mysterious Dunhuang," a similar exhibition featuring ancient Dunhuang cave art will come to town at the end of this year.
In collaboration with the Dunhuang Academy, the exhibition organizer Blooming Investment will use augmented reality technology to create a virtual immersive experience of magnificent centuries-old murals from Mogao, Dunhuang, Guansu Province. Meanwhile, 50 copies of Mogao murals and 12 Buddha statues, as well as six lifelike cave replicas will also be shown.
"Dunhuang Mogao Caves is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a must-see treasure of the world. I believe that art and technology should be accessible, so we are organizing this immersive and interactive Dunhuang art exhibition to make the experience of visiting ancient caves be shared with people everywhere. It's a way via which people can have an aesthetical experience of the extraordinary caves," said Yang Juze, founder and chairman of Blooming Investment, at a press conference at B. Park in OCT-LOFT on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Blooming Investment's another exhibition, "teamLab: Dance! Art Exhibition, Learn & Play! Future Park," will extend its closing date to Dec. 3. Combining art installations and a futuristic amusement park, the exhibition was awarded "Top 10 art exhibitions of 2015" by Designboom. It is an interactive, dynamic playground where visitors can explore and play.
