Mischa Maisky

On Thursday evening enters the Maisky Trio. Father Mischa, a familiar face to Chinese fans, is the world’s only cellist to have studied with two of its greatest masters — Mstislav Rostropovich (at the Moscow Conservatory) and Gregor Piatigorsky (at the University of Southern California). He achieved worldwide recognition after he left the USSR to repatriate to Israel in 1972. He has been an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist for more than 30 years with over 35 albums to his credit. His discs collected many international awards and have been nominated for the Grammy.

He surrounds himself with his son Sascha at the violin and his daughter Lily at the piano for a concert that couldn’t be more right. The Maisky’s will dedicate themselves to three piano trios by celebrated Romantic and Neo-Romantic composers: Chaikovsky, Rachmnaninov and Shostakovich.
