Meaning:

Literally, “青铜” means “bronze,” and “王者” means “king.” While the former represents the lowest-rank players in popular online game “Honor of Kings,” the latter represents the highest-rank players. Therefore, these two terms are often used as metaphors for “rookie” and “master.”

Example:

A: 你和小李打过羽毛球吗?

Nǐ hé xiǎolǐ dǎ guò yǔmáoqiú ma?

Have you ever played badminton with Xiaoli?

B: 没有,他又瘦又矮,不怎么厉害吧。

Méiyǒu ,tā yòushòu yòuǎi,bù zěnme lìhài ba。

No. He’s thin and short, and I don’t think he will be good at it.

A: 错了。我以为他是个青铜,没想到他是王者。

Cuò le。Wǒ yǐwéi tā shì ge qīngtóng,méi xiǎngdào tā shì wángzhě。

Then you are wrong. I thought he would be a lousy player, but it turns out he is a master.
