Hong Kong String Orchestra founder and artistic director Yao Jue will lead her orchestra to play Bartok’s “Romanian Folk Dances for String Orchestra,” Webern’s “Langsamer Satz,” Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48,” Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” and Chinese folk songs.

Yao’s professional career has been punctuated by widely acclaimed performances throughout Asia, Europe and the United States. She was awarded a full scholarship by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Later she graduated from the Juilliard School in New York. Yao founded the Yao Jue Music Academy in 2002 and the Hong Kong String Orchestra in 2013.

Yao plays a 1713 Stradivarius violin.
