More than 480 illustrations created by international illustrators are on display at the “Bologna Illustrators Exhibition & Chinese Original Picture Book Master Exhibition” at Yealife in Yitian Holiday Plaza.
The exhibition not only features 375 award-winning pieces by 76 illustrators from the 2017 Bologna Illustration Awards but also shows 105 works by Chinese picture book masters of the 19th and 20th centuries. The illustrations are not limited to paintings; collage, paper-cutting and print pieces are also exhibited. Whether composed of a few strokes or a complex scene, each illustration tells a story, provoking strong imagery in the mind of each visitor.

The Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, initiated in 1967, is one of the top exhibitions of its kind in the world. The Bologna Illustrators Award is presented to excellent illustrators and is dubbed “the Oscars of the world’s illustration community.”
A range of illustration salons, classes and lectures will coincide with the exhibition. Organizers see the exhibition as an important opportunity for parents to peer into their children’s inner world, for children to enjoy a colorful and creative experience, and for fine art students to learn from international masters.
