Hu’s “Rich” exhibition features abstract installations while Yang’s “Whisper” exhibition showcases mineral on paper paintings with women as subjects. “Hu’s installations are dark, dignified and tacit and Yang’s beautiful paintings are gentle and relaxing. I think these two exhibitions echo each other here to imply that life is complicated and we can face it either seriously or easily,” said Zhu Xiaojun, curator of the exhibitions.

Dates: Until Feb. 20

Foshan artists’ works

Oil paintings, sculptures, watercolor and ink paintings created by artists from Foshan City are also on display at Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

Launched in 2016, the Foshan Art Museum Alliance organizes all the public and private art museums and galleries in Foshan to cooperate in collections, projects and exhibitions, promoting art in Foshan. Last month, the Foshan Art Museum Alliance joined hands with Yangtze River Delta Art Museum Alliance to exhibit Foshan artists’ works in Shanghai and now the exhibition tours in Shenzhen.

“This exhibition has a variety of art forms and styles. Whether they are classical or modern, traditional Chinese or avant-garde, made by veteran artists or by young graduates, the exhibited items are very dynamic,” said Pi Daojian, academic consultant of Foshan Art Museum Alliance. “The artists not only are very skilled and talented but also have a great passion for art.”
