Three evaluation companies will be publicly selected to assess the value of the structures and attachments on the golf course occupied by Shenzhen Golf Club, according to a notice released by the city’s planning and natural resources bureau, sznews.com reported.

The golf course, covering an area of 1.33 square kilometers, is located in the Xiangmihu area of Futian District. It was previously owned by Shenzhen Golf Club Co. However, there has been long-standing concern about the use of the land since the lease expired in February 2015.

Back in 2011, 16 political advisers submitted a proposal that suggested the land be considered for urban parks and high-tech industries. Chen Zhimin, the main advocate of the proposal, subsequently submitted the motion for seven consecutive years, urging the government to recover the land and clarify the use of the land to the public.

The golf club applied to the land authority to renew the lease Feb. 6, 2015, but the request was denied.

In June 2016, shareholders in the company applied to the court for compulsory liquidation, which was accepted by the court according to the law.

The golf course’s only real estate certificate was nullified Jan. 17 this year, and the Futian District Government will take over the land upon the completion of the compensation work during land requisition.

According to the overall arrangement of the municipal government, the work surveying, mapping, evaluating and determining compensation for the buildings on the land lot is under way.
