As of 3 p.m. Sunday, parks under the city’s park management center in Shenzhen had received over 1.68 million visitors during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday, citing information from the management center.

The data suggests that as many as 710,000 people visited Shenzhen Bay Park during the holiday, making it the city’s hottest park. The figures for Lianhua Hill Park, Yangtai Hill Park, East Lake Park and Honghu Park were 151,000, 163,000, 118,000 and 30,000, respectively.

Many parks held special activities to attract visitors. For example, the city’s park management center joined hands with Mangrove Wetland Conservation Foundation (MCF) and Shenzhen Green Fund Association to hold bird photography exhibitions at Honghu Park, Shenzhen Children’s Park, Bijia Hill Park and the nature education center at Shenzhen Bay Park.

Many parents brought their kids to participate in the activities and learn bird-related knowledge, the report said.

Additionally, Honghu Park held a lotus planting activity. Fifty residents who had registered for the event collected lotus seeds and mud to plant the flowers on the scene.
