Four European artists are exhibiting their print art at the “When Occidental Soul Becomes Vision” exhibition at China Printmaking Museum in Longhua District. Entry is free.
The four artists are Irina Kozub from Russia, Roman Sustov from Belarus, Jochen Kublik from Germany and Jiri Brazda from the Czech Republic. After years of education and practice, they can use a wide range of technical skills in intaglio, lithography, engraving and mezzotint to bring their inner soul to a visual outside.
Brazda’s early works concentrated on female bodies and on a deeper view into the bodies, they are giving birth to a huge spectrum of human emotions and expressions of the soul. Kozub and Sustov are keen on doing illustrations and ex-libris for books.
Kublik received his education during the prime time of printmaking in Europe. Influenced by outstanding German printmakers at that time, he absorbed a huge spectrum within European printmaking with all its technical solutions and artistic expressions.
Jiri Brazda
Brazda studied at the College of Applied Arts in Prague from 1973 to 1979. He is a member of the Union of Czech Visual Artists and of the Hollar Association of Graphic Artists. Over the past 30 years, he has presented his works at more than 140 exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Britain, Japan, China and the United States. Since 1982, he has been awarded 32 times at both local and international competitions, mainly for his free graphic art and bookplates.

Irina Kozub
Kozub studied at the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts from 1999 to 2005. Since 2004 she has been engaged in the design of books in publishing houses of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Since 2010, she has been a member of St. Petersburg Union of Artists of Russia. In 2016, she was awarded the annual grant of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Roman Sustov
Sustov graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Arts in 2001. From 2001 to 2005, he worked in the Academic Art Painting Studio of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. Since 2013, he has worked as a teacher of printmaking in the Belarusian Academy of Arts. He has taught at Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in China since 2018.

Jochen Kublik
Kublik started his studies at Polytechnic for Design in Germany in 1983. In 1996, he established his own workshop for copper prints and since 2000, he has been the head of the printing department at the polytechnic. Since 1988, he has held solo exhibitions in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Italy and China.
