Public parks in the city received a total of 2,254,931 visitors during the four-day May Day holiday that ended Saturday, according to information released by the Shenzhen park management center.

With 1.09 million tourists, Shenzhen Bay Park saw the most visitors among public parks during the holiday. On Wednesday alone, the first day of the May Day holiday, the park welcomed 330,000 visitors, data showed.

Lianhua Hill Park, Donghu Park and Yangtai Mountain Forest Park saw 295,000, 130,000 and 102,000 visitors, respectively, during the holiday, sznew.com reported.

Park management offices helped 10 pieces of lost property get returned to their owners and 15 children find their parents, the report said.

Some 450 volunteers served at different parks, including Lianhua Hill Park, Shenzhen Bay Park and Bijia Hill Park, during the holiday to provide services such as managing visitor flow and offering route guidance.

Photo exhibitions of common bird species held in Honghu Park and Shenzhen Children’s Park attracted many residents during the holiday.

Selected artwork by Yang Meihong, a well-known Chinese illustrator, has been on display in the exhibition hall of Bijia Hill Park since the beginning of the holiday, and will continue to be shown until the end of May, the report said.
