The Bao’an Industry Development Expo will be held at the new Shenzhen Exhibition and Convention Center between Sept. 25 and 27.

The new center in Fuhai Subdistrict, Baoan District, boasts 1.57 million square meters of floor space. Phase I will cover 400,000 square meters of land with 500,000 square meters of indoor space, making it the largest in the world.

The fishbone-shaped center features a 1.75-kilometer walking path in the middle connecting the 19 exhibition halls. Sixteen of the 19 are standard halls covering 20,000 square meters each. Two of the remaining three halls are multipurpose exhibition halls, each measuring 20,000 square meters, and the last hall is an extra-large exhibition hall at 48,000 square meters.

“The structure demonstrates that the new exhibition center will achieve the combined purpose of exhibiting and holding meetings and activities simultaneously. There will be 150 meeting rooms equipped with advanced technologies,” according a report by Shenzhen Economic Daily yesterday quoting the project manager.

The new exhibition center has also adopted the advanced technologies used at exhibition centers in Munich, Boston and Hong Kong in order to become the world’s most energy, water and materials efficient with the lowest carbon footprint.
