Ping An ranks No. 1 among top 500 SZ firms

Ping An, Huawei and Amer rank as Shenzhen’s top three enterprises in terms of operation revenue in the year 2018, according to a report jointly released by the Shenzhen Enterprise Confederation and Shenzhen Entrepreneur Association yesterday.

The report, which aims to be the most influential and authoritative report on Shenzhen enterprises in order to speed up the pace of Shenzhen’s development into a city with global influence, enhance the strength of the real economy and promote the high-quality development of enterprises, is striving to comprehensively, systematically and accurately reflect the status quo, achievements, existing problems and trends of the city’s enterprise development through data sorting, analysis and summarization of the reported indicators.

In 2018, Ping An Insurance (Group) Co. of China earned 976.83 billion yuan (US$141.84 billion). It was followed by Huawei Investment Holding Co. Ltd. with revenue totaling 721.2 billion yuan.

Amer International Group took the third place with total revenue of 505.1 billion yuan.

Evergrande Group, China Merchants Bank, Tencent, Vanke, BYD, China General Nuclear Power Group and Fude Sino Life took the positions from four to 10.

“The 2019 ranking of the top 500 Shenzhen enterprises was listed in accordance with internationally accepted rules. Any enterprise, excluding administrative firms and asset management companies, that has been registered in Shenzhen for more than three years and had 300 million yuan in revenue in 2018, is eligible for consideration in the ranking. The rule also applies to majority controlled shareholding subsidiaries or minority controlled shareholding companies,” the newspaper said, quoting a source from the editing office of the Shenzhen Enterprise Confederation.
