“Sailor Moon”

Six hundred Japanese manga works created by 40 masters since the 1960s, including Osamu Tezuka’s “Mighty Atom,” Akira Toriyama’s “Dragon Ball Super,” Eiichiro Oda’s “One Piece” and many Hayao Miyazaki’s works, are on display at an exhibition at Yealife in Yitian Holiday Plaza.

The exhibition is divided into four sections: Ghibli world, classic manga original works, interactive zone and manga studio.

The Ghibli world section features works by animators from Studio Ghibli. The studio, founded in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki, Isao Takahata and Yasuyoshi Tokumain in Tokyo, is best known for its anime feature films.

Six of Studio Ghibli’s films are among the 10 highest-grossing anime films made in Japan, including “Spirited Away.” Five of Studio Ghibli’s films have received Academy Award nominations. Totoro, a character from “My Neighbor Totoro,” is the studio’s mascot.

In the classic manga original work section, beloved manga works such as Kimio Yabuki’s “Ikkyu-san,” Fujiko Fujio’s “Doraemon,” Naoko Takeuchi’s “Sailor Moon,” Gosho Aoyama’s “Case Closed” and Takehiko Inoue’s “Slam Dunk” can be seen.

A manga studio is re-created at the exhibition for visitors to see the process of manga creation, with more than 100 “Dragon Ball Super” original drafts on display. Visitors can take countless selfies at the interactive zone and become part of a manga scene.
