Foreign teachers and students took a tour to learn about the high-tech development and construction of international blocks in Nanshan District in Season 2 of Discover Nanshan, which was launched Wednesday.

Following the first season in June, in Season 2 of the activity organized by Nanshan District Foreign Affairs Office and undertaken by Southwind Social Work Service Center, participants visited Royole Corp. and Appotronics Corp., two high-tech companies in Shenzhen Bay Eco-technology Park. The expats were amazed by the marvelous high-tech products, especially the folding smartphones from Royole and the ALED laser display technology of Appotronics.

Near Shenzhen Bay Park, they learned about the myth of sky-patching in front of the statue of Nuwa, a goddess in ancient Chinese mythology. In front of the statue of Yuan Geng, an early proponent of China’s reform and opening up, they learned about China’s reform and opening up and the development of Shekou, under the guidance of staff members of Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats.

Dasha River Ecological Corridor is the final stop of the tour. The park, which covers 13.7 kilometers along the Dasha River, was officially opened to the public during the National Day holiday. Its 2-km southern section was opened to the public last year. Dragon boat training has often been held on the river since it opened.

In Season 2, Nanshan District Foreign Affairs Bureau will help expatriates learn about the district’s economy, culture, ecology and technology by organizing multicultural activities and attract more expats to live, work and study in the district.
