A total of 534 enterprises and institutions from Bao'an District inked deals totaling 4 billion yuan (US$571 million) at the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE), which ended Nov. 10 in Shanghai.

The exposition attracted more than 500,000 domestic and foreign professional purchasers and over 3,800 exhibitors from 181 countries and regions.

More than 1,000 enterprise representatives from Bao’an attended the fair, sought business opportunities and reached procurement agreements with sellers from around the world covering high-end equipment, spare industrial parts, supply chain services, intelligent housing and agricultural products.

On the first day of the fair, Joy Wing Mau Group Co. Ltd. signed a US$10-million-yuan contract with fruit seller Capespan from South Africa. Shenzhen Eternal Asia Supply Chain Co. Ltd. signed a 1.8-billion-yuan strategic cooperation agreement with FrieslandCampina of the Netherlands. Under the cooperation of the two companies over the past year, Eternal Asia helped FrieslandCampina expand in the Chinese market and provided one-stop supply chain solutions, from customs clearance and bonded trade to logistics, settlement and dispatching.

The logistics service reduced costs, improved efficiency and intensified network coverage. The Advanced Semiconductor Material (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. found a business partner at CIIE and agreed on a letter of intent for US$100 million yuan.

Procurement of advanced high-end equipment was the major task of the Bao’an delegation at the fair. Shenzhen Shuttle Star found the ideal spare parts for the company’s products, which will help with the company’s upgrading.

“Our company engages in the production of X-ray detecting and testing equipment, and reached an intent agreement with U.S.-based Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.,” Liu Ming, general manager of the company, said in an interview.

This was the second year that QT-Flex participated in CIIE. Liu Zhixin, assistant manager of the company, had a big demand for products for intelligent control systems and CIIE provided a platform for the company to look for more products.

Bao'an District ranked No. 8 among China’s top 100 counties in 2018 with 361.2 billion yuan in GDP and 178.7 billion yuan of industrial added value from enterprises above a designated scale.
