Ten entrepreneurial projects competed Thursday at the China Merchants Cup Idea, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, an event sponsored by China Merchants Group in response to the call by the Central Government for the mass entrepreneurship and innovation initiative.

The finals of the competition consisted of a six-minute road show session and a six-minute Q&A session. At last, Cloud To Go, a cloud development environment provider, won the competition.

Wang Hong, deputy general manager of China Merchants Group (CMG), spoke highly of the competition, saying it achieved good results. A number of creative ideas and products emerged, and the staff’s passion for innovation was activated.

“All of the 10 projects that entered the finals have unique highlights and are closely integrated with our group’s industries. China Merchants Group has a good platform and rich industrial scenarios, which can create an industrial ecological environment for internal and external entrepreneurial projects. It is our hope to cultivate unicorn enterprises and become a pioneer to push the times forward,” said Wang.

At the event, Wang also announced that the competition will continue to be held annually and will be closely connected to the industrial development direction of the group.

In 2020, the second session of the competition will focus on the transportation and logistics sectors, which is expected to inspire more employees to participate and dig up new breakthrough points in industrial innovation in order to build an innovative and win-win ecosystem.

Chu Zongsheng, assistant to the general manager of CMG, Zhang Jian, chief digital officer and director of the financial services business unit of CMG, Yan Shuai, director of the Human Resources Department of CMG, Xiong Xianliang, director of the Strategic Development Department of CMG, and Wang Jinjin, general manager of China Merchants Startup, served as judges at the event.
