The Xili High-speed Railway Station in northern Nanshan District will have 13 platforms and 25 lines for trains and it will be larger than the current Shenzhen North Railway Station, according to the planning for sites of the station and its auxiliary projects revealed by the Nanshan Administration of Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau recently.

The projects include Xili High-speed Railway Station, the Yangtaishan-Xili station section of Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail and Tanglangshan depot.

The station and auxiliary projects will cover a land area of 204 hectares. The Xili station will use 42 hectares of land. It will be a large-scale comprehensive transportation hub serving a high-speed railway, intercity rail link and urban rail network. It will serve as a station for Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail, Shenzhen-Maoming high-speed rail and Shenzhen-Shanwei high-speed rail.

The railway station plans are to have 25 railway lines. Three intercity rails linking Shenzhen with Huizhou, Dongguan and Zhuhai will make a stop at the station. In addition, four Metro lines, 13, 15, 27 and 29, will pass through the station.

The Yangtaishan-Xili station section of Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail runs 10.2 kilometers. It is designed to travel at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It covers 27 hectares of land including 15.82 hectares for tunnels and 11.32 hectares for bridges.

The Tanglangshan depot covers 135 hectares and has 14 lines to accommodate trains.

The rail that links the Xili station and the depot is 3.85 kilometers long.

The construction of the high-speed rail town backboned by the Xili station had been listed as a key project of the city.

The Xili transport hub, along with Shenzhen North Railway Station and Shenzhen Railway Station, will be three backbone stations, while Shenzhen East Station, Futian Station, Shenzhen Airport Station and Pingshan Station will serve as auxiliary stations.
