Take your selfies on Sparkling Mickey Street

MixC Shenzhen Bay has decorated a street in the shopping area with installations of the blue Sparkling Mickey designed by Thomas Dariel until Aug. 11. Bubble machines will spew out bubbles in the street every half an hour from 1 p.m. until 8:40 p.m. July 17, 20-24 and every half an hour from noon until 9:40 p.m. July 18-19, 25-26.

In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary, Leblon-Delienne invited a range of renowned designers and artists including Dariel to reinterpret the figure of the well-loved cartoon character. Dariel’s lacquered resin Sparkling Mickey figurine is a tribute to the Pointilist movement in painting which explains all the points and dots. It delivers a sleek visual play with its mesmerizing speckled veneer. Shoppers can buy the figurines at the Drivepro store on the third floor of MixC Shenzhen Bay.
Dariel draws his creativity from the different worlds of design, fashion, gastronomy, visual arts and luxury. His design philosophy is driven by his passion for breaking traditional codes and clichés which creates a new language for each design.
