A section between Qianhai and Huanggang Checkpoint of Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail will run 21.1 kilometers, passing through Nanshan and Futian districts, according to a plan released by the Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau yesterday.

The section was designed to operate at 160 kilometers per hour and has two stations, Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base in Nanshan District and Huanggang Checkpoint in Futian District. The two stations will be connected with Metro lines and other intercity rails to form comprehensive transport hubs.

The public can view details at http://pnr.sz.gov.cn/, the official website of the bureau, and offer feedback by email to szjtc@pnr.sz.gov.cn by the Nov. 25 deadline.

The Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport-Qianhai section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail is now under construction. It is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

The operating section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail — the section between Guangzhou’s Xintang and Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport via Dongguan — began service in December last year, offering a quick link for passengers between the three cities.

On Guangzhou’s side, the rail will be extended to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport through a link with Xintang Station.

It will be connected with other Pearl River Delta cities through links with the Foshan-Dongguan rail, Dongguan-Huizhou rail and Guangzhou-Foshan rail.
