On Dec. 7, world-famed pianist and Steinway artist Liu Ji accepted Whittle School & Studios’ invitation, and together with Whittle student performers presented a piano concert to Whittle parents and students.
At the concert, the school’s young musicians first played several of the world’s classical piano pieces. The scattered notes echoed in the performance hall, which intoxicated every audience member. Liu commented on the students’ performances, much to the delight and benefit of the students. Liu then shared some of his original repertoire and several world classic pieces, which pushed the concert to a wonderful climax. As an international musician, Liu expressed his patriotism vividly in the piano performance of “I and My Motherland.” When the last note ended, the audience broke into thunderous applause.
The concert gave all the guests an audiovisual feast. Liu was appointed as the honorary artist of Whittle School & Studios. In the future, he will continue to provide Whittle students with more in-depth musical guidance and inspiration.
