The authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in Shenzhen yesterday released a monthly recruitment plan for talent from China’s Hong Kong and Macao and foreign countries, along with a list of urgently needed talent, at a ceremony at Qianhai Kerry Center.

Wang Jinxia, vice director of the authority, said the plan is a concrete move for Qianhai to support young people from Hong Kong and Macao to integrate into the overall development of the country.

“We will organize enterprises and public institutions in Qianhai to offer more than 100 job vacancies for Hong Kong, Macao and overseas talent every month, providing support for their development on the Chinese mainland and promoting talent exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” Wang said.

He said the newly released list aims to attract global talent to work or start up businesses in Qianhai.

Also at the ceremony, the authority signed several memorandum of understandings (MOUs) with the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Industry and Commerce Association; the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; and the Macao Chamber of Commerce.

Choy Koon-sham, honorary president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, said the rapid development of the mainland’s economy is attractive to Hong Kong and Macao youngsters.

“China became the only major economy that recorded positive growth last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. There are broad development opportunities on the mainland and it is estimated that more Hong Kong enterprises and individuals will come to Shenzhen for future development,” he said.

As of last December, Qianhai had recorded 11,300 Hong Kong-funded enterprises with a total registered capital of 1.2 trillion yuan (US$185 billion).
