Chinese seniors aged 60 and above in Shenzhen can enjoy wills notarization service free of charge at the Shenzhen Xianxing Notary Office until May 12, according to the office.

A professional service team mainly composed of experienced notaries has been set up to notarize wills for the elderly for free, said the office. They can also provide door-to-door service for those with limited mobility due to health reasons.

Eligible citizens can make a reservation through the office’s hotline 0755-82777571, online booking or on-site booking. Online booking is available through the office’s WeChat account “gh_9d3715e6a18c” (深圳市先行公证处) or website www.xxnotary.com.

The service is offered Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for national statutory holidays.

In addition to the service for seniors aged 60 and above, the office also offers free notarization of appointed guardianship for 100 families who have lost their only child, and free notarial legal advisory services for 100 families, institutions, enterprises and organizations.

Meanwhile, the office has launched a publicity campaign to explain and popularize the country’s Civil Code to government organs, enterprises, institutions, social organizations and communities, and adopted various means to provide better notarial services to citizens.

“The series of activities that we launched are aimed at solving practical problems for citizens and enabling them to benefit from inclusive public legal services,” a notary surnamed Luo told Shenzhen Daily.
