City’s new leadership meets media

“The just concluded Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Congress of the CPC is an important meeting at the historic point when the CPC is embracing the 100th anniversary of its founding and striving to realize the two centenary goals. The municipal Party congress, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, implemented the strategic arrangement of the CPC Central Committee and work arrangement of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, analyzed the current situation and challenges Shenzhen is facing by focusing on its historic mission in the new era commissioned by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, and scientifically planned the goals and key tasks for Shenzhen’s future development,” Wang said.

Wang introduced the other newly elected members of the 13-member Standing Committee of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC.

They are Qin Weizhong, Zheng Ke, Ai Xuefeng, Liu Liansheng, Feng Ling (female), Huang Min, Yu Xinguo, Cheng Buyi, Nie Xinping, Wang Qiang, Zhang Yong and Yang Zhichun.

Qin Weizhong and Zheng Ke were also elected deputy secretaries of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC. 

2021 is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period and a new starting point of a new expedition of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. Wang said Shenzhen had entered a golden development period driven by the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the construction of Shenzhen into a demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

“We are deeply honored and will cherish the opportunities and strive to be worthy of the expectations and trusts of the CPC Central Committee and the people. We will try our best to pick up the baton of constructing Shenzhen into a demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics and present an excellent examination paper that lives up to the expectations of the Party, the people and history,” Wang said.

Wang pointed out that the new historic mission of Shenzhen is building a demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to be an exemplary city of a modern socialist country and to take the lead to realize socialist modernization.

“We will take the lead to explore the new trajectories of constructing a modern socialist country in an all-round way and try to become a model for the rule of law, an exemplary city of urban civility, a benchmark city for people’s well-being as well as a pioneer in sustainable development,” Wang said.

“To be an exemplary city of socialist modernization, we must approach from the perspective of reform and opening up, emancipate our minds, implement new development philosophy thoroughly and accurately based on the new development stage, and try to be a pioneer of constructing a new development pattern,” Wang said.

“All the work we do is for the better life of the people. We will put people at the highest position in heart, solve the commonly concerned problems like education, medical service and housing with greater effort, and try to be a benchmark city for people’s well-being,” Wang said.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC was also elected.
