10 projects shine at entrepreneurship competition final

The Weiku smart LCD dimming and color-changing glass project stood out from 15 finalists to win the first prize of the Third CMG Cup Idea, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held at the CM Space in Shekou of Nanshan District on Jan. 14.

The three second prizes went to the Celldim precise cancer diagnosis technology, a 3-D face recognition product, and a new-type liquid cooling system based on efficient heat dissipation. Another six projects including the UAE non-destructive testing system and a highly integrated intelligent AI digital infrared temperature measurement chip won third prizes in the competition.

This year’s competition collected 409 participating projects at home and abroad, including 56 from colleges and universities. The China Merchants Startup, organizer of the competition, held 35 promotional activities, training camps, road shows and featured events nationwide in cities such as Xi’an, Beijing and Nanjing.

According to Zhou Song, chief accountant of China Merchants Group, the first three sessions of the competition had attracted nearly 1,000 outstanding entrepreneurial projects. He said CMG will continue to join hands with academic institutions, leading enterprises, small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as venture capital institutions and startup service agencies to produce an integrated development pattern for all the participants and achieve a win-win solution.

At the event, the fourth session of the competition was launched, which will focus on innovations and startups in the fields of key and core technologies.
