Splendid China holds water-splashing carnival

The 27th Water-splashing Carnival had its start last Friday in Splendid China• China Folk Culture Villages in Nanshan District, and will last through Aug. 28.

During the 59-day carnival, the tourist attraction will hold a series of theme activities, including float parades, electric music parties, and hip-hop dances to let tourists spend a cool summer. A swimming pool bar and a camping area will also be set up during the carnival, where young tourists can taste special wine and food, appreciate beautiful views, and take characteristic selfies.

At the Dai Ethnic Group Water-splashing Plaza of Splendid China, tourists can participate in water gun fights, ice bucket challenges, disco dances, and bodybuilding exercises. A child-parent water world next to the plaza is a good choice for family tourists to have fun where they will have access to a swimming pool, an animal-shaped water slide, and dozens of water entertainment facilities.

In addition, a series of traditional Chinese culture activities will be held from June through August to celebrate the Torch Festival of the Yi minority, the Sho Dun Festival of the Tibetan minority, and the Double Seventh Festival (Qixi Valentine’s Day).

Through Aug. 28, tourists can enjoy discounted ticket prices. The prices for a nighttime ticket and an annual ticket are 49.9 yuan ($US7.44) and at 299 yuan, respectively.
