A woman was found leaving after placing bags of fruits and milk at the entrance of the Longgangxu fire station in Longgang District on the night of this Mid-Autumn Festival, a local TV station reported.

Ye Zhaojian, a firefighter from the fire station, spotted the woman via the surveillance system that night.

“I was on duty and saw the woman leaving some gifts. I ran out, trying to show my gratitude,” Ye said. He then reached out to the woman and got her contact number.

In fact, this was not the first time that the woman has been spotted sending food to the station. Liu Chunjian, head of the fire station, recalled that the woman also left fruits and drinks on the eve of the Spring Festival as well as Lantern Festival.

The woman, surnamed Li, was then invited to the station Friday. Li told a reporter of the TV station that she felt so touched whenever she read firefighters’ heart-warming stories.

Li said she just wants to thank firefighters for safeguarding people’s safety by sending little gifts during traditional Chinese festivals, adding that “I just want to offer some fruits and snacks to appreciate their hard work.”

Li was taken to the fire station to visit and learn about the purpose of each firefighting equipment. Firefighters from the station said they have acknowledged citizens’ kindness and caring but hoped not to receive gifts from them anymore.
