A chartered Shenzhen Airlines flight left Shenzhen on Saturday, carrying students who will be studying in the U.K., the operator announced Saturday.

It was the first direct flight to London from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport after the outbreak of COVID-19.

In cooperation with INTO Education Group, Shenzhen Airlines will send around 400 students from China to the U.K. in two chartered flights in September.

For students flying to London, the airline offered free domestic flights and accommodations for their trips within China.

The chartered flight will help reduce cross-infection risks and parents will feel safe when students travel in groups, the airline company said.
