This spring, local residents participated in a planting event for different colors and varieties of sweet potatoes near Civic Center in Futian CBD, organized by Futian District Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau and a public-benefit organization.

The red, yellow and green sweet potato leaves formed a giant “phoenix” hovering the 3,300-square-meter farmland, with the pattern conveying local residents’ determination and confidence for unity. As the harvest season arrived, volunteers dug out the sweet potatoes. Urban residents did the farming, leisurely and fully curious.

According to the News, the ripe sweet potatoes will be handed over to the city’s sanitation workers via Futian Volunteer Association as a reward for those who devoted themselves in making the city more beautiful.
