Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ) was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2002 and jointly built by Harbin Institute of Technology and the Shenzhen municipal government. Initially a graduate school, it has expanded to offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Currently, HITSZ has 10 schools and four research institutes. Its around 9,000 full-time students include 4,500 undergraduate students and 4,400 postgraduate and PhD students.
