Wenjindu Checkpoint

Wenjindu Checkpoint. Photo by Sun Yuchen

Located in Luohu District, Wenjindu Checkpoint is one of the first batch of land border crossings that were put into operation in China. Dubbed Hong Kong's "green lifeline," the checkpoint has served as a major gateway for the supply of produce from the Chinese mainland to the special administrative region. Fresh vegetables, fruits, frozen meats and livestock passing through this checkpoint account for 80% of the daily supply of such consumer goods to Hong Kong. Wenjindu is reopened to individual travelers as of Jan. 8, this year after a major facelift.

Add: 1188 Yanhe Road South, Luohu District (罗湖区沿河南路1188号)
