Shekou Checkpoint

Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport. EyeShenzhen

Located in Shekou, Nanshan District, Shekou Port consists of two parts: the cargo-only container terminal and the Shekou Ferry Terminal, which is open to border-crossing individual travelers. Shekou Port was China’s first checkpoint that was funded, managed and operated by an enterprise after the country’s reform and opening up. Currently, Shekou Port has a total of 31 berths, 10 of which are for container vessels and eight for passenger ships. The container terminal has a designed capacity of handling 1 million TEUs (twenty-feet equivalent units) annually.

The passenger-only Shekou Ferry Terminal, also known as Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport, operates direct ferry connections to the Hong Kong airport, and a number of other destinations in Hong Kong and Macao. Free shuttle bus services are available at the former Shekou Ferry Terminal, near Exit C of the Shekou Port Station of Metro Line 2, to go to the homeport. A bus terminus near the Metro station offer bus services to locations throughout Shenzhen.
