Chiwan Checkpoint

West of Shekou Port, Chiwan Port started operation in October 1983 and was open to overseas-registered vessels in May 1984. It currently has 17 berths, six of which are for container vessels only. It is accessible to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, among other intercity highways, and the Pingnan Railway. Second only to Shekou Port in term of scale among ports in western Shenzhen, Chiwan Port is a comprehensive checkpoint integrating rail, road and sea transport.
