Shenzhen Cantonese Opera Week

Shenzhen Cantonese Opera Week, formerly known as the Shenzhen (Luohu) Cantonese Opera Festival, was founded in 2006. It is one of the key projects of the intangible cultural heritage protection project. The main activities are as follows: Opening Ceremony (Invited national awarded repertoire), Cantonese Opera & Cantonese Song Tour, Act Cantonese Opera Together and Sing Cantonese Songs Together, "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cantonese Opera Day" activities, Shenzhen Children's Cantonese Opera Performances, Exhibitions and Closing Ceremony (focusing on the Shenzhen Cantonese opera troupes and excellent opera highlights from Cantonese opera)and so on. Shenzhen Cantonese Opera Week holds the principle of "spreading, popularizing, exchanging and improving" and adheres to the principle of "government advocacy, social operation, professional guidance and public participation". It devotes itself to the inheritance education of Cantonese opera art and builds a combination of professional and amateur skills Cantonese opera performance platform to carry out the exchanges of Cantonese opera at home and abroad, and constantly improve the awareness of Cantonese opera art and expand the audience groups to accept it, training talents of Cantonese opera, and strive to promote the prosperity of Cantonese opera art.

The main activities are not only invite national awarded repertoire to perform in Shenzhen, but also focus on the display of Shenzhen Cantonese opera troupes and excellent opera highlights from Cantonese opera, including Cantonese Opera & Cantonese Song Tour, Act Cantonese Opera Together and Sing Cantonese Songs Together, "Shenzhen-HongKong Cantonese Opera Day" activities, Shenzhen Children's Cantonese Opera Performances, Exhibitions.
