The Seventh Hospital Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University is the first affiliated hospital operated and managed by Guangzhou-based Sun Yat-sen University in Shenzhen. Invested by the Shenzhen city government, it is an important hospital built under the city's Sanming Project of Medicine, an initiative introduced in 2014 to attract first-class international and national medical experts and resources to the city. The hospital is adjacent to the Shenzhen campus of Sun Yat-sen University, and is a major base of clinical teaching of the Shenzhen campus.
