The China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition

The China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition (CSIPCC) is approved by the former Ministry of Culture, guided by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, organized by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and hosted by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and the Shenzhen Association for Cultural Exchanges with Foreign Countries and the Shenzhen Association for Foreign Cultural Exchanges, and co-organized by Shenzhen Arts School, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO), Shenzhen Piano Association, and other organizations. It is held once every three years. Since 2006, the competition has been held for four times successfully and cultivated large number of outstanding pianists, such as: Zuo Zhang (China), Kim Maria(Ukraine), Galina Chistiakova (Russia), Ma Ke (China), Bai Yanfeng (China),etc., becoming a leader active in the international classical music scene. The 5th CSIPCC is scheduled to be held in 2023. As a member of WFIMC, this is one of the most major international piano competitions in China, and has extensive influence in the field of international piano art, and has become an important starting point and measure for Shenzhen to implement the strategy for a strong cultural city, building a "City of Piano" and shaping cultural brands. As an important part of the construction of Shenzhen Piano City, the purpose of the competition is to build a platform for outstanding young pianists to perform piano concertos with professional symphony orchestras, provide opportunities to display musical talents, promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of international piano art, discover and select piano talents, create an atmosphere of the City of Piano, and enhance the cultural soft power of Shenzhen.
