Founded in 1979, the Second People's Hospital of Shenzhen (The First Hospital Affiliated to Shenzhen University) is a comprehensive hospital, providing medical services, teaching, research, medical training and health education. The hospital was recognized as a top-rated hospital in Shenzhen in 1996, and in 2008 it was awarded the distinction as a "National Advanced Health Unit."
