Like “capillaries” of the city, public bus routes take people to most of the communities around Shenzhen. Riding buses is a fun and easy way of navigating and exploring the city.

People can ride public buses with a QR code. Search for the “Shenzhentong+” Mini Program in WeChat, follow it, input your phone number to get a verification code to log on, connect it with your WeChat Pay account, and a QR code will show up on your phone screen.

Passengers can also use other cards including the Shenzhentong Card, Lingnan Pass, China T-Union card, or UnionPay card to ride on buses. Buses on most routes also accept coins and a few have ticket conductors.
