深圳设计周

Shenzhen Design Week (SZDW), an annual April event since 2017, is an international design festival hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and organized by the Shenzhen International Culture Exchange Association, with the Shenzhen Culture, Creativity & Design Association (SCCDA) serving as secretariat.

The first edition of SZDW was held in April 2017 and more than 200 designers from 18 countries and regions participated in some 45 activities in 16 creative culture venues across the city. About 2,000 design works were exhibited during the first SZDW, attracting more than 100,000 visitors.

Themed on “Possibilities of Design,” the 2018 Shenzhen Design Week was held between April 20 and 30, 2018. More than 1,000 designers from 25 countries and regions including the U.S. brought over 2,500 pieces of design works to about 60 events during the design week.

Following development over the past few years, SZDW has become more than just a simple exhibition and an exchange platform for designers from around the world. SZDW now has its emphasis on the mutual relationship and influence between design and industry, as well as between design and society. This cross-sectoral and cross-border event has successfully introduced more international first-class designers and design works to Shenzhen, while showcasing Shenzhen design to the world. Shenzhen strives to establish the brand of “Shenzhen Design,” as well as enhance the public's cognitive appreciation of design, to let design integrate into and change people's daily life.
