Cultural items with local characteristics such as the dance drama “Steeping Stones” that went viral at this year’s Spring Festival Gala and Zibo barbecue will be on display at the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair to be held in Shenzhen from Wednesday to Sunday, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

This year’s fair will incorporate the use of advanced technologies to present these cultural treasures.

One of the highlights of the event will be the introduction of the Liangma River in Beijing, renowned for its picturesque riverbank scenery. The Liangma River has been selected as one of the first batch of national night culture and tourism consumption clusters. At the exhibition area, visitors will have the opportunity to virtually experience the riverbank scenery by “sitting” on a boat through the use of VR equipment.

Beijing’s Chaoyang District will also showcase its creative cultural products like Pop Mart and other cultural projects such as the 798 art zone and 751D PARK Beijing Fashion Design Square at its booth at Hall 10 in the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District.

The Shanghai exhibition booth will transport visitors into the vibrant cityscape through a specially designed platform, complemented by glasses-free 3D technology, allowing for an immersive experience.

Additionally, the fair will leverage metaverse technology to provide visitors with a glimpse into the lives of ancient people. An interactive zone will be set up at the Shanxi Province exhibition area, where visitors can color line drawings of musician figures from the Yungang Grottoes and then scan the code to download their own creations.
