Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (SMBU) will hold a series of online and offline cultural and artistic activities themed around “Impression Russia” from today to Sunday as a subvenue of the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), the university said.

For the third consecutive year, SMBU has been designated as the only university subvenue for ICIF.

This year, the SMBU subvenue has prepared a wider range of activities to invite visitors to experience Chinese and Russian culture and art in a diverse and immersive way.

The activities include a Russian art exhibition, a book fair, a Sino-Russian drama festival, a Sino-Russian art festival, a Sino-Russian food culture festival, an international shuttlecock festival, a chess tournament for college students in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a philatelic culture exhibition, a professional clothing culture exhibition and an ice hockey industry exhibition.

The opening ceremony at the SMBU subvenue will feature programs such as Russian song and dance performances, folk culture performances and a shuttlecock performance. Meanwhile, SMBU will sign strategic cooperation agreements with several partners at the ceremony.

During ICIF, Russian artists and artworks will be present at the university, where a series of artistic activities including a Russian art exhibition, an oil painting master demonstration class, and a campus landscape sketching session will take place.

The university’s library boasts a large number of precious imported books that will be shared with visitors during ICIF. In addition to reading, visitors will have the opportunity to watch classic movies and visit a 3D printed works exhibition, a special themed exhibition and a Russian literature exhibition.

According to SMBU, visitors can enter the open area of the campus to attend the opening ceremony, view art exhibitions, and participate in the food festival, drama workshop and other activities that don’t need prior reservations.

However, reservations will be necessary to visit specific areas in the university such as classrooms, living quarters and the library. Interested visitors can make appointments through the university’s WeChat account “深圳北理莫斯科大学” (SMBU2017) or its WeChat miniprogram “参观深北莫.”
