Visitors lined up waiting at various virtual reality (VR) machines, hoping to experience amazing videos from the VR headsets at a booth in the Digital Culture Hall (Hall 9) of the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) in the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District yesterday.
“I like the view of the galaxy. It’s really like we are in outer space,” Um E Kalsoom from Pakistan, a Shenzhen University doctoral student, said after she landed on “Earth” from a simulated return capsule.
Shenzhen Jingmin Digital Machine Co. Ltd. brought 13 VR machines to the cultural fair, giving visitors different VR experiences covering the deep waters, aerospace and games. The Bao’an-based high-tech company focuses on intelligent digital control and VR immersive experiences.
Users, as they put on their headsets in their simulated capsules, will experience scenes recreating a spacecraft’s whole journey to the moon, which includes launching, being on the moon and returning to Earth.
“The simulated capsule is nine times smaller than the real one,” Zeng Haiou, business director of the company, said. “Every single detail of the video was designed based on facts of the real journey.
