At that moment, all I worried was whether our rivals would win back a score,” Wang Xinyu told ynet.com, a website specialized in sports news, after the Shenzhen tennis player and her partner from Chinese Taipe, Hsieh Su-wei, won the women’s doubles title at French Open yesterday.

The 21-year-old rising Chinese tennis star Wang Xinyu grew up in Shenzhen and her father started to coach her playing tennis when she turned 6. Her talent in tennis soon led to a professional road. 

王欣瑜于2001年生于深圳，是土生土长的深圳姑娘。她出生于体育世家，她说，自己从小就住在网球场边上，每天看的、玩的都是网球。到了6岁之后，爸爸教她打网球，并逐渐开始专业的训练。

Wang once studied in Yuanling Primary School and enrolled by Meilin High School with her results to the entrance exams of racing and solid sphere standing at number one among the other candidates.

王欣瑜先后在福田区园岭小学、梅林中学就读。当时，她以体育术科第一名的成绩考入梅林中学。

According to Fan Huaping, racing coach of Meilin High School, he thought Wang was a quiet and shy girl when he first met Wang in 2016.“But the girl soon gave us a big surprise,” Fan said. 

在梅林中学教师、校田径队教练范华平老师的印象中，2016年，他初见王欣瑜时，觉得她还是个文静斯文、“甚至有点腼腆”的小孩子。但这个小孩子很快就给了他大震撼。

“Wang is constant to her purpose. She is confident, brave and daring to take challenges with calm and open-minded emotions,” Fan said. 

“我觉得她是一个有毅力、有追求的孩子，具有深圳孩子特有的灵性和自信，也有一种敢闯敢试的从容和豁达。”范华平说。
