The 12th Shenzhen Cartoon and Animation Festival concluded yesterday at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District. The five-day fair featured appearances from prominent Chinese animation voice actors, comic artists and cosplayers. Intangible cultural heritage exhibitors have also set up stalls at the festival, showcasing exquisite traditional crafts such as painted fans, finger painting and sugar figurines. After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival made a return to Shenzhen. As one of China’s four major animation festivals, it has been held in Shenzhen every summer since 2009, establishing itself as the city’s premier animation-themed event, attracting cartoon and animation companies, as well as fans from all around.
